The Rest of the Herd!

Pumpkin and Barry are blackbuck antelope and enjoy frolicking, bouncing, jumping, and running in the pasture. They are extremely fast and agile which makes them a joy to watch. The females stay a brown/red color with a white chest, belly, and legs while the males change colors based on breeding times of the year. They can be lighter in color like the females or almost completely black other than their white patches. Barry has had his horn tips cut for safety. He is our only male blackbuck and he tends to get himself in trouble fairly regularly with the other deer. He is a bit of an antagonist! Cutting the tips of his horns off not only keeps the other deer from being injured, but also keeps the people that work around him safe. Blackbuck are definitely a sassy fun antelope and make you smile!

Mila is a Pere Davids deer or Milu. Milu are native to China but are currently extinct in the wild. Mila was a rescue that we raised due to her mother having problems during birth and rejecting her. Mila doesn't know that she is a deer and actually really would like to live in the house with the dogs. She will follow us around on the side by side, go for a walk in the pasture, or just lay down and enjoy the company. She gives LOTS of kisses and loves her treats!
